“Nisa: the river that’s connecting us”
Under this slogan, a second protest action took place: kayaking down the Nisa River, which flows through the Czech Republic and forms the state border between Poland and Germany. Symbolically, it highlighted the fact that the area is not so much an international political issue as a clash between an arrogant mining company and the ordinary people who live around the mine – regardless of their nationality.
